Let me hide, love
“Let me hide from the world a little longer, love
Let me hide a little more
Because this heart it grows sensitive, love
Over time it tenders itself to others
A raw lover, fragile yet yielding
Feeling so much yet guards
So little”
Chronic conditions and the modern world: a conflict
We become sick when we suppress these beautiful beautiful aspects of ourselves.
Hips
An introduction to the hips and pelvis. May you find some food for thought, some inspiration for exploration and an impetus for movement.
Healing the hips is like nurturing a rosebud. It will happen with a delicate touch and patient understanding that she will blossom when she's ready.
What can I give?
Giving is a fundamental aspect of humanity. We are a collective that are so very interdependent, such very social creatures, that rely on community for survival. It is within our core mechanism to be of service to one another.
And much like the tap, the more we give, the more flows to us.
Dear Everyday athlete
Dear Everyday Athlete,
I get it.
You've got a family to love, chores to attend to, duties to fulfill, friendships to nurture and a job to keep you busy.
When time is precious, energy is emotional and people are priority... Ensuring we treat our bodies as respectfully as possible is actually a non-negotiable.
the path of least resistance
As you learn to trust the power of your own discernment and follow the path of least resistance, you create space to transform and empower yourself. You must ignore the voice of fear disguised as desire and remain disciplined to this approach. Listen with the ear of your heart and live free from the internal battle between love and fear, trust the flow and live in harmony.
Sound is movement
How beautiful, to become so very embodied that your movement is almost song-like.
How can we move more harmoniously with, not just our environment, but also ourselves? How can we move with the graces and qualities that reflect what we would like to communicate with the world?
pranayama
As we cultivate the skills to truly harness our breath, we actually learn how to harness our own life force energy. A very simple example of how this might benefit you… you wake up in the morning, you’re feeling groggy, it’s a monday, monday motivation has not hit, there’s no desire for hustle but you’ve got work to do. SO you think “oh I know I’ll do some breathwork” and then BAM 15 minutes later you’re feeling fresh, mental clarity, energy for days, nasal passages are clear and you’re feeling super grounded. That’s Pranayama baby!
The summer low-down
Like any other cyclically moving entity we go through phases like seasons, and I’ve existed over the summer months as a little more hermit-like. Burrowing away, surrendering to rest and figuring things out softly with an ebb and flow with the tides of change.
i am a protest
This week I’ve been thinking a lot about time, healing and pressure. We put so much pressure on ourselves to keep up, but who is holding the timer?
life lately
So it’s been a minute. And rather than posting some form of informative blog… I’ve decided to take a more personal route. Let’s chat the NHS, autoimmune diseases and surrender.
how to start hanging out
Hanging is such an important aspect of healthy movement and I really do believe we all need to be hanging out a little more, indulging our inner monkey and getting a bit of air time.
Tips for creating a self practice
You’ve been attending group yoga classes for quite some time now, maybe you’ve considered doing a yoga retreat or even investing in a YTT… but some part of you knows deep down, you’ve been avoiding steering your own yoga practice. It’s ok we’ve all been there.
5 Notes from Dubai
Here’s 5 reflections from my (almost) 3 months in Dubai:
Life doesn’t have to be difficult. We don’t always have to fight, hustle and struggle to be productive. Just because an option is “easy” or lends itself to surrender doesn’t actually mean it is counter-productive or even failure.
1 month in dubai
I actually can’t believe it has already been a month… and yet sometimes it feels like I’ve always been here.
