5 Notes from Dubai
Here’s 5 reflections from my (almost) 3 months in Dubai:
Life doesn’t have to be difficult. We don’t always have to fight, hustle and struggle to be productive. Just because an option is “easy” or lends itself to surrender doesn’t actually mean it is counter-productive or even failure. Surrendering to God and surrendering to softness takes a lot of strength and is actually more aligned to living with the flow… rather than fighting it. As soon as we surrender and allow ourselves a moment in ease, doors open, love floods in and we find ourself swept in the direction we were always meant to head. We have been conditioned away from ease and into a fight and for the first time, I’m not here for discomfort. I want softness, support and hibernation. This is the insular space in which we can reflect, regather ourselves and re-energise.
We are all powerful creators. The first step towards harnessing this power is thought. As we make a firm decision, it gathers momentum. When we are clear and confident in those choices the universe will bring it to life in full force… like a magnet. The thing is, we need to also take action for it to “manifest”. We cannot be complacent or passive, manifestation requires time and effort. Which leads into the next…
Don’t waste your time, energy and breath on smoke and mirror promises. Trust your intuition, listen to the red flags and take action. When we feed smoke and mirrors, nothing is concrete, there is no grounding to anchor a future creation to. And so it wanders free floating in the ether of the unknown, no matter how free-floating you might think you are… that’s no place to succeed in creating what you want or need.
Love the journey, focus on the journey and not the destination. When we focus too intently on a destination, a job role, a title or label for ourselves… the punishment is that you will become it. This is one shadow of a “limited” mindset because you close yourself off from the potential of becoming someone or doing something that you might not have even considered! How many times have you reflected on the past 5 years and thought “my goodness I never expected to…”? Have high expectations, have a good understanding of what you want and need, but don’t become overly attached to the outcome. Be open and fluid to change, embrace new or different offerings BUT remember to check in… does this opportunity take me away or towards the key cornerstones of my life? Maintain direction but be open to change.
Value people over business.
On a lighter note, here are a few other fun things:
BOOK TO READ: “A Return to Love” by Marianne Williamson. I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve cried reading this.
MUSIC TO LISTEN TO: “You and I” by Shiv. Such a vibe.
QUOTE TO CONTEMPLATE: “Quality is not merely an end. It has become a way of life.” Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid AlMaktoum. I’ve been coming back to this concept of quality, it is not limited to assessing the value of a product, but it is also the way we embody and project our energy into something. And that needs to ripple throughout our lives to be fully present and authentic.
As I journey back to the UK I’m bringing a lot of wisdom with me. I can’t wait to share more insights, new movement practices and integration of my offerings for you beautiful people.
Watch this space, it’s alchemising.
