WHY STRETCH?

Stretching is finally being more widely considered an important aspect of our general health. It is an important factor in the prevention of injury, maintenance of healthy mobility, feeling well and as part of the recovery process.

Stretching helps decrease stress levels in the body by increasing blood flow, ease of movement and creating space within the body.

When we pair western approaches to stretch, and eastern understanding of the meridians, prana and fascia… we find ourselves creating flow and space in areas of the body that once held tension or stagnation.

WHAT IS 1-2-1 SUPPORTED STRETCH?

Great question! 1-2-1 supported stretch is a growing-in-popularity form of therapeutic treatment. Think of the massage experience… only for stretch, joint mobilisation with a dash of massage added in.

The standard sessions involve a full-body stretch flow, where I will be moving, lifting and twisting your limbs to the ranges of motion that best suit your needs on the day. I might encourage breathing patterns or the occasional PNF stretch, but aside from this it’s my job to do the stretch work for you.

This is a great method of pushing and sustaining stretch in areas of the body and at ranges you might not choose or be able to reach otherwise. Think of me as a little bit of accountability!

With repetitive sessions we can start to create goals and targets. I can get to know your body and keep track of your progress so you don’t have to.
